Tour Description

Starting at the Mamoudzou Tourist Office, a 16 km (20-minute) drive along the D3 road takes you to Combani village, where the adventure begins. The Mont Combani Trail, part of the GR1 path, offers a challenging 0.2-mile hike with a 213.2 ft elevation gain, rated as hard but rewarding. Traverse dense forests teeming with ylang-ylang, mango, and coconut trees, and spot wildlife like lemurs (makis) and fruit bats (roussettes). Hidden waterfalls and panoramic summit views of Mayotte’s coastline await.

After hiking (2–3 hours), relax at the Relais Forestier, a serene lodge nestled in greenery, and if we want visit the nearby Jardin Botanique de Coconi to explore fragrant plants like vanilla. This 6-hour excursion includes a guided experience for deeper insights into Mayotte’s biodiversity. Return to Mamoudzou with an optional stop at the vibrant Marché de Mamoudzou for local crafts.
